What is an AI career change tool, and how does this hub help?

Changing careers is rarely a skills problem — it's a decision, translation and storytelling problem. You know you want to move, but you can't tell which pivot is realistic, you can't make recruiters in the new industry see your value, and you can't explain the move without it sounding like you're running away from something.

This hub solves those three problems with three new AI tools, built specifically for UK career changers. Use them on their own, or feed the results into Find My Lane's full toolkit — AI job matching, CV scoring, and a personalised transition plan — to take the next step.

🎯

Decide

Career Pivot Simulator

Stop agonising over "should I be a data analyst or a UX designer?" — compare three pivots side-by-side. See realistic UK salary trajectories, training time, fit scores and 3/6/12-month milestones so you can pick the right one and stop second-guessing.

Decide

Pick your current role and compare three pivot targets

Try the demo with sample data, or change the inputs to see live UK-realistic outputs for your situation.

💡 Tip: the best fit isn't always the highest salary.
New tool · 02

Transferable Skills Translator

Recruiters in a new industry don't read your CV the way your colleagues do. Paste your current responsibilities — even messy bullet points — and the AI rewrites them in your target industry's language, with the keywords ATS systems actually look for.

Translate

Paste your current CV bullets · pick a target industry · get reworded versions

Demo runs locally with realistic sample translations. The full version uses live job-market keywords from real UK ads.

⚡ Try a sample below if your CV isn't to hand.

Career Change Story Builder

"So why are you moving on from X?" is the question that breaks most career changers. This tool generates the three versions of your career change story you'll actually need — a 30-second elevator pitch, a LinkedIn About paragraph, and a cover-letter opener — so you walk in with a confident, consistent narrative.

Pitch

Tell us four quick things · get three ready-to-use story formats

The demo uses a structured template. With a full account, your story is generated from your CV Profile and target job ads.

📝 Copy any version with one click.
Optional — we'll generate one if you leave it blank.

Fill in the form on the left and click Generate my story to see your three versions appear here.

Continue your journey

Once you've chosen your pivot, do this next

The hub tools above help you decide, translate and pitch. To actually land the role, plug into the rest of Find My Lane — built specifically for UK career changers.

FAQ

Common questions about using AI to change career

If your question isn't here, drop us a note from your account once you've signed up — we read every one.

What is an AI career change tool?
An AI career change tool uses your existing skills, experience and goals to suggest realistic next roles, identify gaps, and help you present yourself for an industry you haven't worked in before. This hub bundles three new free AI tools — a pivot simulator, a transferable skills translator and a story builder — alongside Find My Lane's full toolkit (CV scoring, transition planning and live UK job matching).
Is it really free?
Yes. The three hub tools (Pivot Simulator, Skills Translator and Story Builder) are free to use with a Find My Lane account — no credit card, just an email and password. The free tier also includes unlimited AI career searches. Premium adds CV Profile, CV Score and a full personalised Career Transition Plan.
How is this different from a normal career change quiz?
A quiz scores you against a fixed personality model and spits out generic job titles. Find My Lane uses live UK job-market signals plus AI to compare actual pivots side-by-side, reframe your existing experience in the target industry's language, and craft the pitch you need for LinkedIn, your CV and interviews — all grounded in current UK hiring patterns.
Will this work if I'm changing careers in my 40s or 50s?
Yes — the hub is explicitly built for career changers at every stage, including returners and second-career professionals. The Transferable Skills Translator is particularly useful here, because the biggest hidden cost of a later-career switch is often that recruiters can't read your experience properly. We translate it for them.
Can I use the outputs in a real job application?
Absolutely. The Story Builder gives you copy you can paste straight into your LinkedIn About section or a cover letter. The Skills Translator gives you reworded CV bullets ready to drop in. Always read everything through and add your own specifics (numbers, names, dates) before sending — the AI gets you 80% of the way; the last 20% is you.
Do you save my data when I use these tools?
Once you sign up and run the tools, your outputs — your pivot comparisons, translated CV bullets and saved stories — are kept on your Find My Lane account so you can come back to them. You can view, edit and delete everything from your profile page at any time. We never sell your data.

Ready to put your pivot plan to work?
